You can find a little something for everyone here. These are all small shops that I believe in and a majority of them give back to the community in some way. I’ll be keeping this page here indefinitely as a resource and will be adding to it as I discover more small shops that I love.

MAMA & OG
- NON-TOXIC RESIN LETTERS & ACCESSORIES
- BLACK OWNED
I’m Lanée – the maker behind MAMA & OG. MAMA & OG is named after my daughter OG and me. I launched this resin letter business after I struggled to find resin letter makers that supported BLM, inclusivity, and anti-racism as a whole. I hope to be a role model and inspiration for others who may be breaking barriers in their respective industries.

Kido
- CHILDREN’S APPAREL AND TOY STORE
- BLACK OWNED
Kido is a small shop owned by a 4th generation entrepreneur. Both Keewa and Amanda are Black Wall Street descendants, and Keewa has built Kido with a hope to keep their family legacy alive. Her great-grandfather had a tailor shop in the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the Massacre of 1921, he fled to Chicago and rebuilt his shop on the Southside. Keewa’s grandfather carried the torch and built his own tailor shop, and now, 100 years after Greenwood burned, she has her own shop in Downtown Chicago.
When her son was born, Keewa wanted to find clothes with positive affirmations that were eco-friendly and trendy too. She couldn’t find what she was looking for, so she created her own line! Kido started with one onesie and big dreams. Keewa would travel all over Chicago, selling her onesies at local markets. She kept saving and releasing more designs, until she developed a following of diverse, millennial parents.

INDIGO ARROWS
- HOME GOODS
- INDIGENOUS OWNED
For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples in Manitoba, including my Anishinaabe ancestors, created beautiful patterns to adorn their pottery collections and host of bone tools. Most of the surviving pieces are held by museums now, but I think the world needs more than exhibition- we need these patterns in our homes provoking thought; we need them bridging gaps; and, we need them inspiring our loved ones. The Indigo Arrows line picks up where my ancestors left off.
